Universal Studios, Harry Potter World and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review

We moved outside of Disney World for the first time, today and took a cab to Universal Studios.

They have lots of interesting things to do and rides, all based around the films they have made, like Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump.

While I was waiting for the others to go on the Jurrassic Park ride, I met up with a really nice woman who was visiting Disney World with some of her work colleagues to go to a convention on essential oils.  She was really interesting to talk to and I found out some great stuff about her products, which I intend to follow-up on later.

Then we went to Harry Potter World, which is within Universal Studios.  This was really great and I loved the Hogwarts simulated ride.  There was all sorts of "witchy" stores and a great acapella group with singing toads as accompaniment.

We got back to the apartment by about 5 o'clock and had a bit of a rest before getting ready to go out to dinner and a show at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review at Fort Wilderness within Disney World, which we caught a ferry to (DW is just so HUGE!).  We had a great time with fantastic food - real Southern fried chicken, pork ribs (I passed on those), mashed potatoes with the skins mashed in (quite good!), salad, cowboy beans and corn, corn bread and honey butter and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

The show is really corny too, but lots of fun and we all really enjoyed a foot-stompin', "yee-haa" time!

Home by about 11:30 to a very well earned sleep!
