Magic Kingdom

We all slept in until about midday, had a light brekky and hopped on the bus to the Magic Kingdom.  This is the park that is most like the original Disney Land, with Cinderella's Castle, Adventure Land, Frontier Land and Tomorrow Land.

We arrived just in time to watch the lunchtime parade.

After that we made our way to the wonderfull little "It's a Small World" ride.  I remembered this so much from our last time at Disney, fourteen years ago and couldn't wait to see it again.  It's really cute!

Then the guys took a ride on the motor racing cars.  I was official photographer at that one.

Then we did some shopping for Disney merchandise and went on the Space Mountain ride.

After that we visited Frontier Land and went on the Splash Mountain ride which takes you through the story of Uncle Tom's Cabin with Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear.  There is a 50 foot water fall drop at the end, which we all loved!

Then we went through Liberty Square and visited the Hall of Presidents which was a theatre show about the history of the Presidents.  It ends up with a fabulous display of all the US Presidents as moving, speaking figurines.  It was very impressive!

Then, Torie spotted a street artist who used tiny little scissors to cut out a silhouette of your profile.  She was amazing, so we asked her to do one of the three of us girls.  She completed each one in about 3-4 minutes (making three copies at the one time) and put them together into three frames.  We loved them!

By this time, it was about 10pm and there was the most brilliant electric light show parade.

I bought a beautiful red Mickey Mouse balloon and we had some ice cream (mine was called a "rice dream" and was pretty good, for vegan ice cream).  Then we shopped a little more and finally staggered home at about 11pm.
