Downtown Tour

We had a little sleep in today, only to about 9 o'clock.  We went out for breakfast on the Square and then caught another open-topped double decker bus for a tour of Downtown Manhattan.  We meandered through the central shopping area first and saw Macy's and Maddison Square Garden ...

Then we hopped off at the Empire State Building ...

I wasn't actually asleep,  just caught blinking!

I bought an Empire State Building keyring.  The centre plate spins around.

Then, back onto the bus for a tour of the most interesting places downtown, including -

Flat Iron Building
5th Avenue
Greenwich Village
Kenny's Castaways - where Bruce Springsteen started his career with the E Street Band
Soho
Tribeca
Woolworths Building - where the Batman movies were filmed
Canyon of Heroes - where the ticker-tape parades are held
Trinity Church - which has the oldest grave in New York
Wall Street
The Wall Street Bull
Brooklyn Bridge
Manhattan Bridge
China Town
The Chrysler Building
Queens - as seen from across the East River
United Nations Building
The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel
The Rockerfeller Centre
We got back to the hotel at about 5 o'clock and then the girls went out to a nails place where Lizzy got a set of acrylics and Torie had a manicure and pedicure.

Wayne and Richie went out and brought home the biggest New York Pizza I've ever seen!!

I had a nice vegetable & lentil soup.  Then we all just kicked back and chilled for the rest of the evening.
